About Sylvia
Sylvia Harney

- Sylvia was born with the gift of humor. As a little girl, her life experience took her to a place where she became anxious, fearful and ultimately depressed. She rediscovered her gift of making people laugh while attending Belmont University in Nashville. She began to do comedy routines with country artists and even performed at the Grand Ole Opry. All the while, Sylvia hungered for the Word of God, which was gently guiding her to where she is today, sharing her personal story across America and sharing her joy in God. Sylvia says, “I begin every day putting my entire life in God’s enormous, trustworthy hand, I ask Him to guide, shelter and protect, then I just stay in His Word, trust Him and show up expecting Him to be there! I live each day as a ‘brand new morning, a gift from God’s own hand.” “Make no mistake about it, staying in Gods’ word, applying it to the hurt places of my mind and heart has not only set me free…it has kept me alive!"

Sylvia is the author of the books Married Beyond Recognition and Every Time I Go Home I Break Out in Relatives, Sylvia is working on a third book intended to help others get free of the ‘tethers’ of pain, hurt, fear, abuse or neglect and to truly finish the race with all the freedom the Father has provided. She has also completed six books for children.

Sylvia resides in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband Hank.

The theme Sylvia will present for the 11th Annual Women United in Christ is Women of Truth.
